The War & Sanctions platform continues its work under the management of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine. Recently, the "Tools of War" registry was relaunched on the portal, initially created with the support of the Economic Security Council of Ukraine (ESCU) under the aegis of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The updated "Tools of War" includes a list of machines and industrial equipment used by Russian arms manufacturers, now twice as large. However, the registry's goal remains unchanged. The "Tools of War" aims to unite government authorities, businesses, civil society, and media representatives around the issue of Russia's access to high-precision foreign equipment, which aids the aggressor in producing lethal weapons and striking Ukraine.

The updated database is the result of the work of numerous Ukrainian and foreign researchers of Russia's industrial potential. The platform provides open data on specific brands of foreign machines, their models, Russian defense enterprises using imported equipment, and specific types of weapons produced by these enterprises. Each machine identified at a Russian military plant has its own profile with links to open data proving the provided information.

The main goal of the "Tools of War" relaunch is to draw the world's attention to the ongoing problem. The Russian Federation continues to import foreign equipment despite existing restrictions. To block such access, members of the sanctions coalition need to significantly expand the list of machines that belong to the so-called Common High Priority Items List and are under strict control by the US, EU, UK, and Japan. Additionally, foreign governments should improve compliance requirements for sanctions imposed on manufacturers of high-precision equipment.

Western companies supplying CNC machines to the global market must make significantly greater efforts to stop the re-export of their new and used products to Russia. The negligence of irresponsible manufacturers, in turn, should be punished with total business, economic, and financial isolation.
