State-sponsored hacker groups linked to Russia, Iran, China and North Korea have shifted toward more personalised attacks targeting EU and US industrial supply chains, according to Google’s Threat Analysis Group.

Employees’ personal devices are increasingly coming under attack, with hackers gaining access through fake job offers and specially created online platforms. With foreign specialists now actively involved in weapons development and military assistance to Ukraine, they are also becoming potential targets of hostile cyber operations.

«As western technologies and investments are integrated into Ukraine – including through military aid and joint industrial projects — the pool of potential victims expands beyond Ukrainian citizens. Employees of foreign companies, contractors, engineers, and consultants involved in Ukraine-related projects may also become targets, making this a transnational security issue, not a purely national one,» — Ilona Khmeleva emphasized.
