EU ambassadors have approved the draft of the 17th sanctions package against Russia, which is now awaiting formal adoption by member states. Meanwhile, the Kremlin continues to circumvent existing restrictions by rerouting oil exports through Indonesia and covertly importing Western construction equipment. Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has also uncovered over 20 foreign-made components in downed Russian missiles, including parts from the US, Japan, China, and Australia.

Moscow shows no signs of de-escalation: it is ramping up missile production and has announced plans to explore critical minerals in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Swedish industrial giant ABB — one of the world’s leading electrical equipment manufacturers — is leaving the Russian market entirely, following the earlier departures of Siemens, Bosch, and Schneider Electric.
